The Ironman and The Rocket Combine Forces

This is the first post in a series featuring each celebrity team playing in the 2020 Ace Shootout premiering on March 22, 5:00 p.m. EDT on Golf Channel.

Roger “The Rocket” Clemens makes his second appearance in the Ace Shootout, but this year he’s joined by the iconic Ironman, Cal Ripken, Jr.

Cal Ripken, Jr., played for the 1983 World Series Champion Baltimore Orioles and holds the record for the most consecutive games played (2,632). He is a 19x All-star, 2x America League MVP and 8x Silver Slugger Award winner. Cal was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. He is playing for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

Roger Clemens played Major League Baseball for 24 seasons with the Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays and Astros. He’s a seven-time Cy Young Award winner and 12-time MLB All-Star. He is playing for Texas Children’s Hospital.

You can vote for Roger or Cal as your “Fan Favorite” at AceShootout.org. The player with the most votes will receive a $10,000 donation for the hospital they represent. Special thanks to Milwaukee Tool for sponsoring this year’s Fan Favorite online voting.
