Thank You, Costco! 2025 Champions for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center

Each May, something remarkable happens at our local Costco warehouses. What starts as a simple question at the register — “Would you like to donate to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center?” — grows into a campaign filled with heart, creativity, and genuine community spirit.

This year, our five regional Costco locations surpassed their 2024 fundraising totals, an incredible milestone made possible by the dedication of employees and generosity of Costco members. It’s no exaggeration to say Costco is one of our largest and most committed corporate partners. From May 1 to 31, their campaign message resonated loud and clear: Ask every member, every time.

But Costco’s culture of giving back doesn’t just live at the register—it’s in the atmosphere! From fun competitions like Pac-Man-style fundraising boards, to supervisors dressing up in bear costumes to take photos with members, to the creativity and community-building efforts at each warehouse, this campaign is deeply employee-led and filled with joy.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the dedication of the incredible Costco cashiers. We are in awe of the top fundraisers who, on their own, raised thousands of dollars at their registers. Their commitment is inspiring, and we’re so grateful for the time, care, and conversations they gave to every member who walked through their line.

This May, we also had the opportunity to bring the impact of the campaign to life through a Midway to Miracles event. Bethany Davies and her family (featured below with a smile that lit up the room) joined warehouse leadership, staff, and members to share their story and remind everyone what these donations support: hope, comfort, and care to the children we serve every day.

To every cashier who asked. To every member who gave. To every supervisor who encouraged. And to every warehouse that brought creativity and care to this effort:

Thank you.

Your May made miracles.

Thank you from Johns Hopkins Children’s Center!
